I think I will consider myself a lifetime homemaker (at least so far), I feel that it is my job as a mom and something I enjoy doing. My family is my passion!
My mom was also a homemaker for a long time. Didn't start working until I was in HS. I always wonder what it would be like working outside the home, but don't think I would ever change it!

I look up to the mom's/wife who have careers too...so no thumbs down :)

My mom was a full time homemaker while my father worked two jobs.

After all four of us kids grew up and moved out of the house she went to college, got a degree and now has a career that she loves (and now dad works only one career).

I can't off hand think of a single woman in my life who was a lifetime homemaker. Even my Great Grandmother was a midwife!

My mother worked, all my grandmothers worked, my aunts worked.....nopers not a one. I tried it for awhile and wasn't cut out for it. I love my kids - but I am a worker person. Now I work from home - best of both worlds.

I know lots of women that are homemakers. Unfortunately I am not one of them. I wish I was, but my husband is too sick to work, and someone has to bring home the bacon. I am just glad we don't put our child in daycare. We refuse too. No one is raising my child but me and my husband.

Yes my mom was but she also ran her own business out of house though family daycare.

Those days are gone the way of the horse and buggy it is to expensive for a normal couple not to have both of you working. It can work say for professionals but the average couple needs double income and thats without kids.

Yes, my mom is and always has been. I don't think she would mind working and I think she has offered a few times but it never happened. She keep herself busy with activites now that her kids are grown, bible study, card, shopping, things like that.

no every woman should work so that they contribute to a 401k and social security at least for a time. Once my husband and I have children I'll be a stay at home mom but until then I'm saving for our retirement
