I'm looking for an apartment, but I want to live near a highway (I-93 in MA) so my commute to work is good. I tried googling, and I get way too many sites. Basically, I want a site where I say, I want to live less than two minutes from I-93 in certain towns (e.g. Cambridge), and up pops all the apartments, complexes, listings, etc.).

Thanks

check your local multiple listing service and/or a title company. Most let you check for comparables, sales and rentals with the ability to specify areas. You are probably going to have to do quite a bit of driving to determine the area that you are comfortable with so note the names of streets and cross streets where you decide to live and take down phone numbers of the Realtors on the various signs that you will see. Contact the Realtor whose name pops up the most in the area that you like and contact them. For rentals most have lists and are more than willing to help. They will also help you narrow your prospects.

A good tip is to be in the area that you want to live in at 6;00 AM and PM to determine noise levels and who your neighbors are going to be. Morning for catching people going to work and afternoon for seeing how many kids and people are on the street. It always helps to have a handle on the area.

Good luck!
