And why do they not allocate land to people so they can build a home ?
They would save so much on housing benefit and everyone would be a lot happier !

There is a village near Brighton called Peacehaven where soldiers returning from the Great War were allowed to build their heroes homes. This provoked the Town and Country Planning Act.

We are a small country and seriously short of building land.....building a house `anywhere you like` (in any country) was only possible when our planet was underpopulated (tho it`s still possible in some of the larger countries). Just imagine what a haphazard mess it would be if peeps could build anywhere they liked in the UK.

Local government controls planning.
They are responsible for services such as Education, Social Services and a local development framework.

Blocking all your sun light, view and creating noise and access problems for you of course.

because they can refuse, because there are to many nuts that would build ridiculously and dangerously, not to mention most of them would not know how . and lastly look at peace haven.

just think what our country would look like without some control on building
