Just do what we did in Oklahoma. We made are own state bill about immigration and made it illegal for hiring or allowing them to have housing in Oklahoma, If your don't have a right to be here, don't stay. Then we gave the power to local police to arrest, if your here and are not applying for immigration status to become a U.S. citizen, Oklahoma is not for you. That really pissed them off.....And now other states are looking to Oklahoma to adopt these same laws in their states.

We elect people to lead and follow their best judgement, not to reflexively do whatever 50.1% of the populace thinks.
That's represetative Democracy, supposedly choosing the best and brightest, then letting them do their thing. If they do a bad enough job, you find someone better and brighter and vote/hand the job to him or her.
If they had to do whatever the majority wanted, we could dispense with most of our government and just have referendum votes on each and every issue - a pure, ancient Greece-style democracy.
Bush didn't really turn his back on his supporters, because his constituency is a very elite, small circle of special interests. He wooed voters because he needed their votes, but that was more BS. If you knew (as most people did) that he would rule for .1% of the populace, you probably wouldn't have supported him. So he told you what you wanted to believe, and you ignored all the facts and logic against that choice in favor of a Rovian BS campaign.
I'd say you got what you deserved, but I got stuck with it too. Thanks for nothing.

It's part of our rather deficient system that we are overrating the significance of a president. And therefore, these guys turn into megalomaniacs and believe they know everything better than anyone else. This is just a resurrection of the status of a monarch. And we had a revolution to get rid of those anointed ones.

Forget about Bush for a minute.
A good leader does what he believes is right. A weak leader is one who sticks his finger up to see which way the wind is blowing, and then changes his policy in order to maintain his popularity.
These examples could be applied to Bush and Clinton, but that's not the point.

It appears that way and so do most all the other politicians up on the Hill. Let's vote them all out and put in some that will listen to us.

Republicans like Bush do not believe in government and would rather see the largest corporations running the show and if the corporations want illegal slave labor then they get it.

Do you seriously think George Bush gives a care about what the American people want? You're just not paying attention, he couldn't care less about us, we're not rich.
