The Atacama desert in Chile is the driest.

Mt Waialeale, HI is the wettest and rainiest.

You may be surprised to learn that, among the world's driest locations, you'd have to include the arctic and antarctic polar regions.

The air is so cold, that any moisture is frozen out and is locked up in the ice caps. It is so dry, at the poles that it NEVER, actually, snows. If there is any snow in the air, it would be because it is kicked up by winds, not falling through precipitation.
