IF THEY DO GET A GOOD MANAGER, I HOPE THE PLAYERS WILL REALLY STEP IT UP. IT IS POINTLESS TO HAVE A GOOD MANAGER, IF THE PLAYERS THEMSELVES DO NOT TAKE UPON THEMSELVES THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PLAYING WITH PRIDE AND PASSION FOR THE COUNTRY. FOR A BIG FOOTBALL NATION, THE LEAST YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ENGLAND IS TO QUALIFY FOR EVERY MAJOR TOURNAMENT.

I think all we need is a good manager, a good manager would have dropped Robinson earlier, a good manager would have got the tactics correct, a good manager would have changed the formation against Croatia earlier!
Allot of people have been saying Mourinho & I like the sound of it, he would put confidence in the team & would get his tactics right.
Also he wouldnt be afraid to change things if they were going wrong, Mcclown was an amature & has made English football a joke.
I just hope we get someone top draw as the players confidence is going to be at rock bottom & were gonna need a manager from the top draw to sort things!

Depends on what manager they get. England needs a coach that will instantly gain the respect of the veteran players and still be a good technical coach to bring up the likes of Theo Walcott & the other younger talent. Personaly I believe that Jose Mourinho should be the man.

I think Mourinho is about to be the man by what the media tell us. I think that, unless he changes ALL the players and fills the vacancies with present-day under-21s, he is committing professional suicide. Even English fans say that their present day players are useless junk. I will be more interested in the line-up Mourinho comes up with than his first few matches.... (well, he will have to run in his new team, right?! )
His first few words to his team will be:
"GENTLEMAN... YOU ARE GOING TO SHOW THE WORLD HOW GREAT.... HOW GENIUS... A MANAGER...I AM... TO START WITH WE WILL PRACTICE PENALTY TAKING UNTIL YOUR KNEE-CAPS FALL OFF....NO MORE COCKUPS LIKE THE ONES IN THE EURO2002 AND LAST YEARS W/CUP 2006" -- Can't wait... It would be Scholari against Mourinho !!

it all depends on what manager they get and whether he is strong enough to stand up to the FA and strong enough to stand up to the players, if he is brave he will start dropping a few players and bring in players who really want to play for their country, he will then start to teach them how to play attacking, entertaining football, if he gets all of this right then we can go from strength to strength, if we don't get it right then all we can hope for is more mediocre football to watch and no success, wow, did i really say all that, gonna be a tough job for someone. take care and good luck.

They will get through to the World Cup having just about scrapped through the qualifying rounds.

Amazingly they'll get through to the final against all the odds. The flags will be flying on everyone's cars .

Then when we play against Germany we'll lose on penalties....sorry, but stupid question really... : )

Well if they get their heads up from their backsides and start playing like a team instead of overpaid buffoons then maybe in the next year or two, but quite honestly it's going to take all of Jose the special one's efforts to get the best out of these pampered blokes.

Jose Mourinho would lead them to the final of the 2010 WC but they would be defeated by Spain.
