I take a plain bic barrel pen, remove the end and replace with a fake daisy. Glue it into place with hot glue as it holds well. Take floral tape and cover the barrel with it. Start at one end and wrap it around until you get to the other end and tear it off. The tape sticks to itself. It will be sticky in the beginning but I just rub them in a my hands a few times to take some of the sticky off. You can also use a small amount of baby powder also (not too much or it will turn it white).

I like using the fake flowers (just pull them off the stems and you are left with a little nubby stem that will fit into the top of the pen) but with this technique, you can use other things as well. The flowers are cute because the floral tape is green and it looks like a flower when done. I then get a flower pot or votive holder shaped like a flower pot and fill with brown beans or colored rocks and put the pens in there. It ends up looking like a bouquet. It's cute.

Have fun! :)

Take the white Bic pens (or a similar brand). Use different colors of embroidery floss. Apply glue to a small area of the pen and wrap the floss around, changing colors as often as you want. You could add some colorful, fluffy feathers towards the top and make it look like an old fashioned pen...maybe glue on some rhinestones for added sparkle..

You can also "cover," or just embellish, pens with polymer clay. We do that in the polymer community all the time.

If you completely cover the pens, you can use all kinds of patterns. If you just embellish them, you can make and bake the polymer items separately**, then attach them to the pen, or you can also attach them to a pen covered with clay.

**or use any type of *air-dry* clay instead (like Makins, Creative Paperclay, etc.)

This page at my website that has loads of lessons, links to photos, etc., about covering pens with polymer clay, embellishing, etc.:

(if you bake the clay with the pens, the white Bic Round Stic ballpoint pens are the best ones to use... they're cheap by the package, and they won't warp in the heat)

You might also want to check out this page for some items and ideas for "baby" stuff (for showers, etc.):

Items needed: Pens, glue gun & glue sticks, perfume (optional), artificial flowers and florist tape.

First you cut the flower leaving a little stem.
Then take the glue gun and glue the flower bud to the end of the pen.
Next you wrap the florist tape around the whole pen and when you get to the end, secure it with another piece of glue with the glue gun.
Spray the flower with your favorite scent.
Voila!

You can use tissue paper and pipe cleaners to make flowers and then attach that to the pens with florist's tape. You can also use fimo clay and make designs on the pens.
