The embassy is helping to get her free.
Safe and Back home, to our UK paradise.
she won't be going there again.
They will have to learn English over the internet now.
Makes us all appreciate our country and beware of strange foreign places where things are very different.
How lucky we are to be in UK not that place.

Frankly, I think the whole useless country needs to get blown apart. This is why I don't go to other countries, because they're all insane. I think the British should declare war on the Sudan. It's immoral of the Sudanese to act like this, but it's just as immoral for the British not to send in the troops to bust her out of jail.
Also, lashes is a whipping, with one of a variety of tools, such as a bullwhip or cat'o'nine tails.

While I think the punishment far exceeds the "crime", and I hope she gets home without being jailed or whipped, keep in mind:
If you go abroad, you are subject to the laws and customs of the country you visit, not your country of citizenship - that includes laws that seem stupid or barbaric. It is the visitor's responsibility to learn the laws and customs before going, and decide either to comply or stay home.
Muslim countries tend to take ther religion seriously, and don't separate church (mosque) and state; some also interpret Islamic law very literally. This is common knowledge. It is also their right. And that means respecting the name of Mohamed. I disagree with the penalty, but she should have known better.

The British embassy is involved in trying to get her out.
How barbaric - because she is a woman she has even less of chance of being heard in Sudan.
A teddy bear ! The animals are the ones accusing her of being anti-Islam.

At least Bill O'Rielly and the other religious fanatics don't beat people (yet) who disbelieve whatever brand of extremism that they are peddling, but beatings aren't the only way to persecute people.
Just two years ago, Americans discovered that soldiers in military training camps were given extra duty if they didn't go to church - on orders of the Bush administration.
Bill Orally and the folks at fox noise verbally attack and slander anyone who doesn't want to celebrate Christmas.
Non-Christians have to put up with two months of endless, non-stop Christmas music everywhere (OK, Christians have to suffer through this too).
Non-Christians have to suffer with ignorant people assuming that everyone adores and celebrates Christmas.
We have to put up with religious symbols in our government (which is illegal), in our schools (which is illegal), at work, in the stores, everywhere. In fact, if you don't put up Christian religious symbols then you are verbally assaulted and some right wing nuts calls for a boycott.
People rightly attack Moslems for not being very tolerant of others, but Moslems aren't the only problem. There is religious intolerance everywhere.

Not all countries think and do like the USA. Before making a quick decision always get a history book on the country in question and learn about their laws and ways of doing things.
One thing about these tough laws is that they have no crime to speak of. Most do not have staving people or people living on the streets. All are taken care of.
Lashing is a whipping. And it is not done like you see in the movies. Their clothes ARE NOT ripped off their bodies to show their breast and etc.

40 lashes could kill the woman. Sudan is the only country left in the world that still openly has slavery.
England is to busy accepting anyone and everyone and bending over to do anything about this.

it wouldn't matter what it was called, that woman shouldn't have to face a penalty for naming her own possessions. that is kind of under the "freedom of speech" and stuff isn't it? i mean, that would be just like telling a pregnant woman that she cant name her son Jesus.
