Well most people always have said Peyton manning. I always have said Tom Brady Because he always has been good with NO ALLSTAR RECIECVERS (untill this year that is) Also Tom had won 3 super bowls by age 28. To have a sucessfull carreer most peopl think you have to win the super bowl. And thats very true. That is every players main goal. And Brady did it 3 times before peyton finally did it last year. Yes Peyton Has better stats, but Brady is having a far more sensational year this year. When manning set his TD record he had Marvin Harrison one of the best all time, and reggie Wayne who is sick. That year Who did brady have? he had deion branch but branch is no harrison. and last year Bradys best reciever was Reche Caldwell. caldwell wouldnt even make 3rd reciever on this years patriots. So i have alwasys said brady is better and you will see that more when he gets his 4th super bowl this year

I'm with the guys above me, Booyah and Phil B, we can argue all day with a handful of QBs (Elway, Favre, Marino, Montana, Manning, Brady, hey Bradshaw and Jim Kelly should be in that convo too u kno) and never come to any kind of consensus.

And the O-line is so important, i don't care what you say about the Pats recieving core, the O-line is the reason for Brady's success (and the fact that for the last 6 years they were cheating anyway, but let's not bring that up again).

People act like Peyton always had this amazing team around him when he was drafted, it took a while (and the right coach) to bring a defense to that team and to utilize all the weapons they accumulated.

I'm not say that Brady's not a great QB, he is special but if Vinatieri missed 2 of the those kicks in the Super Bowl, we wouldn't be having this discussion. I just don't see what Brady has done to separate himself from those other QB's.

It's hard to make a clear comparison.

Brady has been part of more championship teams but Manning has a more important role on his team calling every play. Brady is currently on track to a better statistical year but Manning has had a better statistical career.

This year Brady has been phenomenal while Manning has struggled due to massive injury problems across the offensive line and receiving corps. He has been sacked and rushed constantly and he has had interception problems, often when the backup receivers look confused and turn the wrong way or qut a route.

So, a clear comparison is pretty hard. Your team would be in good shape with either one.

Hey, you know what. We can argue about who's the best QB until our face turns blue. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who is a better QB, it only matter who plays on a more complete team. A QB is only one out of 11 players on the offense, and 1 out of 22 of the whole playing team. You could put an incredible QB on a team that has no supporting cast, and no protection, and he's only going to be able to do so much. If any of these QB's don't have a solid line in front of them, or reliable WR's to throw to, or a good RB to take pressure off of the passing game, or a defense that can prevent the other team from scoring, then it doesn't matter how good your QB is. Manning and Brady both have great stats, and both play on solid complete teams. You can argue all you want, but just ask Dan Marino or Fran Tarkenton, or Jim Kelley, Warren Moon, I can sit here and list them all day. If you don't win, it doesn't matter. You can put up all the stats in the world, if you don't win, it doesn't matter. The NFL is the epitomy of the statement "Winning isn't everything... It's the ONLY thing." Ask any one of these players. They'd give up any records, any stats, any awards they've accumulated for just ONE chance to raise the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Perfect example: It'll be great if the Patriots go 16-0, but it will be completely meaningless if they don't win the Superbowl.

You guys sit there and argue about which of them is better. I'm going to go watch all the games, and find out which team is better. Football is the ultimate team sport. One player doesn't win a game.

And for "OH YEAH..." Vinatieri DID miss two field goals in the superbowl against Carolina, and Brady and his team kept them in the game so he COULD kick the game winner. The kicks at the end of the game aren't the only ones that count. Vinatieri could only make those clutch kicks because his TEAM put him in the situation to make them. I'm a big pats fan, but I'm sorry, the only one of those BIG CLUTCH kicks that he made that impressed me all that much was against the Raiders in the snow game in 01. I'm sorry, but there's nothing that hard for an NFL kicker to make a 30 yard field goal in a dome. Nothing against him, but he was just ONE piece of the puzzle. No more or less important than anyone else.

How can you possibly say that Manning has no receivers. Dallas Clark, and Reggie Wayne are both perenial All Pros. Marvin Harrison is a top 5 receiever in the league on ANY team. I'm not taking anything away from Manning, he's a great passer. The one thing I don't like about him, is the way he steps back and blames his team for his mistakes. I wouldn't consider the injuries the Colts have sustained any worse than any other team in the league. The Patriots top 3 RBs are all hurt, and playing limited roles (actually Sammy Morris is out for the year) Maroney is playing with a bad groin, and Kevin Faulk is playing hurt. Randall Gay, Ellis Hobbs and Nick Kaczur have been playing hurt. Richard Seymour missed the first 8 games of the season. To all you Colts fans that think that only the Colts get hurt, and that only their injuries are significant, that's just part of playing in the NFL. And as far as playing with no real quality receivers. Tom Brady's best receiver for the three superbowls they've won was Troy Brown (All 5'-8" of him). I like Troy Brown, but he was never going to be a #1 receiver on too many teams.

Peyton Manning is a great quarterback that's done just about all he's gonna do.

Tom Brady is a winning machine that must've made a deal with the devil to be playing this amazingly. I don't even think he goes to the bathroom or eats. He just throws TD's and gets in naked pigpiles with supermodels. I regret my life every time i see him.
