It possibly could be a Big Brother type tool to observe you. Maybe not. It could/would do the heavy lifting, drudge work capable of mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry etc. Even yard work. Do you think it would feel like having an intruder in your life?

If the government sent it, I would have to send it back!

I would accept it only if it came from a really good friend or family member. I can use something extra to help with the heavy work and laundry now that I'm getting older and starting not to work as well as i did 10 years ago.

I would give it a name like Big Luke and dress it up for the day.

It would depend on who programmed the robot and whether or not I could rewrite/modify any of the programs....:)

I am intrigued by some of the early versions of robots I've seen. The toy robot pets, the robot vacuum cleaners, the creations at some of the science contests I've seen. So I might be game to give a person-sized robot a try....especially if I could be sure I could disable/turn-off the the thing when I wanted to. As far as being observed, we are pretty much observed remotely any time we are out in public-'security cameras' are now ubiquitous. Enter a store, use an ATM, park in a public or private parking lot, use a toll road.....we are filmed and possibly remotely observed doing all these things.

We'd accept one in a flash! Got a list of jobs it could help with that we need to save up for to get someone in to do! Certain jobs are just too much for Tc eg decorating and I am totally useless! First and only time I tried wallpapering it was a disaster so a robot would be a huge help. Just think of all those jobs around the house that involve stretching....window cleaning, decorating, swishing cobwebs out of corners......oooh! just had a thought it could get rid of all the spiders we get in when it's raining and moths when we open a window at night....yes, definately sign us up for 1. As for Big Brother watching us....he'd soon get bored and watch someone else lol.

Yes, I'd try one out if I had a remote control OFF button I could use. Guess I've seen too many movies where the robots go out of control. Did you happen to see the movie Westworld several years ago? Yul Brynner played a sexy gunslinger in the movie. Hmmmm..... there might be possiblities here.

If we let a robot do all our work, we might turn into couch potatoes and end up not being able to do anything. You know that cliche about " if you don't use it , you lose it." I don't think I would want one unless it looked like a young Paul Newman . I could get used to that. Even better if it could cook!

I think it would be great. Imagine the look on those old ladies who show up on your doorstep at 6 am, when the door opens and a full size robot says no!

I would love a robot that could help with some of the chores, but I would have to put it in the closet or out in the garage when not being used.I would worry it would short circuit when I was asleep. LOL

Bring him on! all I ask is he have a shut off button that totally deactivates him and then I want him to come with a case I walk him into that has a large padlock on it....then he has to go live in the garage at night...Not taking any chances on a machine taking over! LOL

Store mannequins are creepy. I can't imagine having a robot. No Thankyou. But the thought was lovely.

As long as I could take a bath without its help, it could sit there and do the work, all it would cost is some oil, and a little electricity to have it run. Send it over.
