I know what I won't be doing. I won't be leaving my home. I think that New Year's Eve is the worst night of the year to go anywhere because of all of the people that go out to drink.
I have a 12 year old grandson that has always lived with me. He has always wanted to stay up to see the new year in, so I will probably be doing what he wants to do on that night (as usual). We play cards or board games, work a jigsaw puzzle, or maybe, bake cookies while we watch the evening's special events on TV. We have a lot of fun at our party for two.
I am going to continue to encourage this type of activity because I know that he won't be interested in doing things with grandma very much longer.

WOW it's a Monday night. I gotta work Monday but off NY Day as I work at a Bank. It's always nice to be with friends to bring in the New Year but on the other hand, in the places downtown, there's a lot of drinking by people who don't get out much.

It's one of those "Ameteur Nights" that I try to avoid.

There are some bars that have closed parties that I have gone to. You pay so much for dinner, champagne at midnight and funny hats. They have a band for dancing and I take a taxi home.

Right now, no plans......... But if I get a good offer, I might go for it. Debi? you said your house? ;+)

I'm afraid I don't do New Year. I go to bed at my usual time and I treat N.Y.D. as I would any other. Its full of bad memories for me, so I try to be as normal as possible. If the weathers good I will pack the dogs in the car and go for a nice hike along the beach, they love that.

Personally, I have never been big on "celebrating" a new year. I do like to watch our local talent in Toronto performing. I miss Dick Clark. I grew up watching him and sort of thought he'd be around forever. My gramma always used to say, "you know you are old when there is no one left that you know"!

That is the one night I really enjoy staying home alone as so many people use that night as their "Special" night out and don't go out any other time.

I'd rather stay home then to have too pay rediculous rates for a good meal and hotel room have to fight my way through crowds.

I will be sitting here watching tv, hoping I can keep my eyes open. I will have to work the next day, so know I will have to have my beauty sleep( boy do I ever need that). Might have the grandkids here so their parents can go out for a short while.
