The project is worth 60% of the class, the whole grade of the class.

Your 78 counts for 40% of the final grade.
(0.4)*78 + (0.6)*X = 60
31.2 + 0.6X = 60
0.6X = 28.8
X = 48

A 48 on your final project would give you a final grade of 60. Should be easy enough to pass!

You will need a 48% on your project to get a 60% in the class. To get a 70%, you'll need a 65% on your project. If you get at least an 81% on your project, you can get an 80% in the class.

Your question is ambiguous- has the project already been taken into account in that 78% ? What do you mean it counts 60% of the class, but you say you got 78% in the class already? I do not understand how your marks are broken down, and what the scoring is etc.

By the way, you should say 'Me and my class are doing', not 'is doing'.

Let X be the grade you need in your project:

78*0.4 + X*0.6 = 60

0.6x = 60 - 31.2 = 28.8
x = 288/6 = 48

You need 48 percent or higher! Good Luck! :-)
