We can't say Merry Christmas anymore because it is offensive. Santa can't say Ho Ho Ho anymore because it is offensive. They don't want us spanking our kids anymore becuase someone thinks it is not nice. We don't accept anyone who isn't exactly like us - because different is obviously bad and should be beaten into submission. Anyone over 102 lbs is considered obese and therefore different. We spend our lives walking on eggshells for fear what we say may offend someone else. CRAZY!!! We've come to live in a hitleresque world with the Steppford wives telling us that we actually like living this way. i find this offensive - and since everything these days is run by what others find offensive - do you think i have a leg to stand on to takesociety to court and sue them for offending me? LOL! Just wondering when we becamse such robots in our own lives?

You said it!!

I tend to say and do what I want to (within the bounds of what's legal!) and who cares if I offend someone? It's a free country and if you don't like it, leave! I was never into the whole "PC" thing and never really understood why the whole movement got started. I like the traditional "Merry Christmas!", etc. What's wrong with it?

When did we start worrying so much about offending someone else? And more importantly, when did we start becoming offended by things like being wished a "Merry Christmas!"?

Since the event a certain group of female, of which I have no association with, though I am a woman, decided to take it upon themselves, simple things like "ho, ho, ho" means that they're being called whores. That's why Santa can't say his trademark anymore; just watch they get their way Christmas might be abolished, cause someone will com along and whine Santa raped them.**Spanking kids nowadays is called abuse; personally that could be right, especially when it's more humane to talk things out; we do it as adults, so why not give our kids the chance?**As for being different I fit into that category; most believe I have been beaten; you could say I fit into that Steppford Wife thingy; only with a twist - I do speak my mind.**A certain movement has indeed made it hard for a certain gender to have a leg to stand on; yet this opposite gender turns around and does the very same thing; only it's okay for them; not the opposite gender.**If I've gone over board, well, then I did; only answered your post as honest as I could..

I think that the media has a lot to do with it. (T.V., magazines, movies, etc.)

The media in general presents everyone in a homogenized way.... they are thin, attractive, tall, with perfect teeth & hair. Real people are just not like that. Commercials make us feel like we are subhuman if we don't look like the "standard" they serve us.

I am all for being respectful and polite to my fellow beings, but I think that the "politically correct" movement has gone way too far. Why do we need to classify everyone? Why do I have to be an Irish-Italian American? Why isn't being a person good enough???

The solution ( in my opinion anyway!) is to turn off the T.V.! If people stop watching, maybe we can understand & appreciate diversity. Interacting with different people in the real world would also help.

I don't think we have. Minorities still get insulted, just in a subtle way and people still spank their kids, they just do it in private instead of making a scene at the mall.

The only thing that really bothers me is the double standard that society has placed on women, especially at the beach where God forbid you can't have any body fat but your husband can go around looking like Jubba the Hut.

As for suing, society is already morally bankrupt.

seems to me it was shortly after the 50's, somewhere before the 1980's.... I think we were caught up in the PC movement right about then... and dozing.

I am so sick and tired of this PC "no one can have their feelings hurt because then they might feel bad" world.

So stupid it makes me wonder if humanity has outlived our expiration date
