Can you play college football (american) if you are an international postgraduate student. Because I am a student in the UK, thinking of doing a Phd in the US and American football is my favourite sport. So... can you?

You only have to be a full-time student, and can't have every played pro football. So yes, you can try out.

To be eligible to play college football, you have 4 years of eligibility. If you have not played, then you should be eligible. Doesn't matter where you come from or what your study. As long as you are enrolled in that institution and have not played 4 years. You also cannot have been paid or received endorsements for playing football, and for some schools, any sport. Some institutions will allow a football player to play minor league baseball. Accepting money makes you a professional.

and go to the University of Washington

They bring in foreign basketball players all the time. I don't see why not...but you would have to have skills to be able to do it. That is unless you wanted to play for USC (-;
