it depends how bad the lie was. We all tell little white lies and those are fine as long as they're not big deals.
There are however things that are not acceptable to lie about such as pregnancy, affairs, rumours, children, etc.
if I ask someone what they ate for lunch and they say a chicken salad when really they had a cheeseburger with all the fixes, no biggie, they just want to seem healthier. If someone says they're pregnant and the father is my boyfriend and that's a lie, well big trouble is coming to them.
Somethings can slip, others cannot!
"fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"
So depending on the lie, it is hard to believe them ever again.

I remember how they acted when they lied the first time I found out they did. Then if I see that behavior again, no I don't believe them. And I walk away from liars. I would love an honest man.

"The truth may hurt me but the lies kills me " I always said this to all the people who lies to me, And yes it was hard again to give a trust after receiving lies.

Depends upon the lie...if it's a "whopper"... NOPE! If it's a "little white lie" Likely it'll be alright, or at least not as bad.
As Judge Judy says on her show, "I find that when someone lies to me once, I can't trust ANYTHING ELSE that comes out of their mouths!"
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

I find it difficult to believe people in the first place. I never just trust that someone is telling me the truth. I know better to place everything into context until I find out for myself whether it is true or not. So I just automatically say to myself "Such and such is true according to this and that", actual truth to be determined later.

Has this person ever told you the truth? If he lied once but told the truth 100 times then the odds tell me his next 99 statements will be truthful.

HELL YEAH. It breaks the trust and is hurtful. It's hard to regain trust back once it's been broken. It's so easy to take for granted and so monumental when it's not there.

Yes. I doubt everything they say and I questioned them over and over to see if I can catch them again.
