Why is the missionary position the best way for TTC if sperm swims?

It isn't. It's a myth that gravity helps the sperm, but it doesn't.

You can have sex in any position and still get pregnant.

People say that missionary is the best, because you can elevate your hips to prevent any semen from spilling out of the vagina after sex, but that isn't necessary. When a man ejaculates, his semen fills the cervix and part of the uterus, and most of what is inside the vagina will die or not even reach the uterus, so it's a moot point.

I guess you could say gravity, but if that were really true, then the old "A woman can't get pregnant if she's on top" myth would be true as well. In other words, 'missionary position sex = pregnancy' is only a myth. ANY position will lead to a pregnancy.

I dont know where people get crap like that from. Thats why I hardly ever believe "recent 'medical' studies." You can get pregnant no matter how your positioned, standing, sitting, on top, from behind etc.... You keep ttc with whatever positions you want to do. Goodluck!

You can get pregnant in any position but most feel let gravity help you out while your BD. Also they say to prop your bottom up on a pillow afterwards for about 20 minutes just to be sure. Best wishes ttc!!!!!!!!!!!

Gravity, and the plus the sperm is release much closer to the uterus makes swimming a little more easier threw the uterus

Anything that allows for deep penetration helps them along, but honestly any position works just fine.

well aslong as the semen gets up there into the seminal pool your ok i think:) just have fun trying. Once the sperm get up there into the seminal pool its pretty much there to stay :)

Gravity....it's easier for sperm to swim downhill than uphill. Some will still get there if you do girl on top (that's how i got pregnant), just not as many.
