Tell ya what, Abdul-from-Sudan, we'll do a deal.

We'll send you back to Sudan with your wife and 8 kids (you have to leave your council house, car, plasma TV, mobile phone and computer here as it was all paid for from our taxes anyway. You can take your goat though). We will also present the Sudanese Government with a bill for all the benefits you've scammed out of us while you've been here. To be paid in cash, NOT goats.

And the Sudan give us back this brave lady in return. Preferably un-harmed.

Hows that?

First off you should learn to spell, have you not insulted Mohammed by calling him your profit, or was that a Freudian slip? A question...... This is a Christian country, what if a Christian were to say that the sight of a mosque in this country was an affront to Christianity? Would you tear it down? Enough said, which religion practices the most tolerance? Also to repeat, the children named this teddy not the teacher. With respect, if you admire Sharia law so much I suggest you live in a country that promotes it. Many of your fellow believers are trying to introduce it through the back door into mine. May I ask why you or your predecessors chose to live in a Christian country that apparently goes against everything you believe in?

Gillian Gibbons had put forward the name of Farsi NOT Muhammed, that was the suggestion of the children she taught.

I am no expert in Muslim law, and if I were a teacher in her shoes I would have done the same. If it makes the children more attentive to their lessons then why not?

Should we not be asking the question - in going to a country that follows Muslim law, ahould we not give them some vital information?

Not only that but as HOSTS to our teacher who is teaching some of your country's children, should your authorities not done the same?

Ms. Gibbons comes from a society that has Christianity as its main religion and those are/ were her foundations in religion.

I am glad you see fit to abide by our laws, but if you were to break them would you expect 100 lashes from us? Or would you expect to be able to apply for Legal Aid, explain that you followed a different ethos and try not to make the same mistake again.

I thought all religions taught tolerance or am I wrong?

Grizzly - you are so right. Thank the Lord we in the Uk live in a country of free speech, and do not get wound up over trivialities. Of course the teacher was not insulting anyone - the child chose the name, and so what? The prophet's name is a common name then and now in Islam, and in biblical days, Jesus was a common first name. Your prophet has been dead for a few years now, and life moves on. Revere his memory, and respect his ideals, but do not go right over the top about it. Live and let live - he who casteth the first stone, etc. etc. And what about glass houses?

She DID NOT call the soft toy after your silly prophet. The MUSLIM children did. Great insult from your religions kids, ey? But no, the teacher has to pay for it.
So get your info right before you shoot off your mouth. Very much the same things your fellow fools do when non-muslims do what you have just done.

It would be difficult to insult your "profit" as you don't seem to make any. You weren't referring to Mohammed as "profit" were you? That would seem to be very insulting to His Name to me. What should your punishment be? People like you are an insult to the religion of Islam. Oh, and you've just broken UK law by inciting religious hatred. You would never call a soft toy Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Andrew, Peter etc? What a sad and bigoted little world you live in.

Grow up and come out of the dark ages!

Haven't you ever made an innocent mistake in a foreign country? Were you imprisoned or whipped?

Content your thirst for punishment by just deporting her back to a civilised country.

And if you and your people seriously think that punishment is due to the teacher shouldn't you also be whipping the children who suggested and voted on the name?

The teacher had no motivation to insult your prophet Mohammed, she simply allowed the children to choose a name. If there is so much offense over this, just send her back to her country. I think it is sad that there would even be consideration of whipping or imprisonment over such an honest mistake: one that isn't even considered insulting by most people, and one that was made by a person trying to help others.

Yeah - I was thinking over this today, and I do beleive that you have to respect the laws of the country you are in - if people come from other countries to the UK I get annoyed if they want excusing from the laws, so you really need to make sure that you are aware of the law when you go to other countries.

I think that part of the problem is the nature of the punishment - it's seen as a bit barbaric, to be honest. Why can't they just lock her up for a week or so?
