what Trayapp means. I get it everytime i turn on my computer. It comes up in a little box, stating - windows installer trayapp then i have to cancel it for about 7 or 8 times then i get logged on. I have tried a system restore, but that didn't work, Any ideas. I'm on windows XP if that helps. It's not causing any problems with the computer it's just annoying that I have to go through this each time, when i never used to. Any help would be appreciated.... Many Thanks

TrayApp probably means System Tray Application, something that runs on the area next to the clock on the Taskbar.

It might be in your startup instructions, so have a look in:-

Start >> Run and type: msconfig

then click on the Startup tab.

Have a look at the processes and see if there if an entry for this process and uncheck it.

If it isn't there then it may be getting an instruction from the registry and that is harder to remove.

Trayapp is a part of HP printer software. If you had an HP printer, this is probably a leftover from that.

Go to http://www.ccleaner.com and download and install the latest version of CCleaner. When you open the program, click on Issues on the left, then on Scan for Issues on the bottom right. Tell it to fix all issues when it is done scanning and say yes when it asks if you want to backup the registry.

It will also clean out a lot of other unnecessary stuff if you run the cleaner function.

Then go to Tools and click on the Starup button and eliminate any reference left there to that program.

Trayapp is one of these stupid programs that come with HP computers and printers. Its function, as I understand it, is to install the pretty little symbol into the system tray. It is a really common error you are getting which has been around for at least four years. This link takes you to lots of HP articles http://h10061.www1.hp.com/ccsearch/search?pname=&qry=trayapp+problems&submit.x=5&submit.y=5&method=prodFinder&ctry=all&lang=en&dlc=en&sni=&search=0
