I think he may be getting tired he has been on guard duty watching out for wwhaskly Whabbits "VN" for a good week or so So he may look dead but he is not ....

If Elmer Fudd did die, the only way I could think of that happening is if he fell in to some "dip." (The liquid used to kill cartoons as seen on "Roger Rabbit.")
