I don't listen to the debates. Yes, i let the media pick for me whatever important moments come out of them. But I get my news from a variety of sources.

I think that moving all the primaries up was a HORRIBLE idea. People didn't want Iowa and New Hampshire to have too much influence by being first, but moving all the other primaries to a couple of weeks after those two states has made them MORE important! It used to be that we had a primary or two a week from February to June, and unknowns could become frontrunners by hitting the pavement and proving themselves state by state. Also, candidates rose or fell as things went along - many times people improved over the course of the season! Now, it seems like only the big names, with the big warchests, have a chance. I think it's sad.

I think we agree.
I feel as if the media has hijacked the process and you only see what they want you to of their candidate.

The debates are mostly a farce as the moderators and candidates know the questions ahead of time.

In the last debate with the Dem's the D L question went to Obama then was re asked and put to all.

Both Edwards and Kucinich were able to get a little sound bite in with Hillary giving an immediate and unequivocal NO for now. Obama tried to get his little sound bite in and was run over by Wolfie.

And all that listened knew the Clintonistas had warned Blitzer to be gentle and were watching to see what would happen.

What ever credit Blitzer held before the debate is gone now.

No, because the questions are pre-screened and the candidates are always interrupted by moderators and not allowed to finish.
I do a lot of research on the candidates-all of them. I check past voting records and how they performed in their respective states if they held office before.
