What brand in 100-200 range is great? Something that will last and is not made extremely cheap.

Paul Westerburg plays a First Act which go for between $100-$200. He even helped design one. Peavy has a series that go for around $200. You really should play a few and see how they feel to make sure to get whats right for you. If you buy uses, check the neck to make sure it's not warped, be careful of any string buzz. Good luck.

You did not specify if you want an acoustic or electric. Take a look at any Epiphone. They are cheaper versions of Gibsons. There are a few in your price range. The quality is usually pretty good. $200 is not very much to work with.

You should be able to get a decent Epiphone starter for at or under $200. They are built solid.
