i did alright but i guess i got every question about % wrong

so how do i know if i pass do i need to get mostly right to pass that test

Depending upon the grading system you may know whether or not you've passed your examination or not although in totality it's not only the exam which determines your passing or not of a course.

Example: the lowest grade that can be given is 65% and the passing grade is 75% if you could get at least 50% correct answer and the highest grade is 100%:

Let s = % of perfect answer, g = rating in %

1st formula: determining the grade of those who got lower than 50% of the correct answer:

g = (s * 1/5) + 65%

2nd formula: determining the grade of those who got between 50% and above of the correct answer:

g = 1/2(s - 50) + 75

Table: Assuming there are 10 items (passing score is 5; below 5 flanks, 5 or more passes):

0%: (0% * 1/5) + 65% = 65%
10%: (10% * 1/5) + 65% = 67%
20%: (20% * 1/5) + 65% = 69%
30%: (30% * 1/5) + 65% = 71%
40%: (40% * 1/5) + 65% = 73%
50%: (50% * 1/5) + 65% = 75% or
50%: 1/2(50% - 50%) + 75% = 75%
60%: 1/2(60% - 50%) + 75% = 80%
70%: 1/2(70% - 50%) + 75% = 85%
80%: 1/2(80% - 50%) + 75% = 90%
90%: 1/2(90% - 50%) + 75% = 95%
100%: 1/2(100% - 50%) + 75% = 100%

But yet I want to say is that it all depends.

That depends on what percentage you need to pass, if each problem was equally weighted an the test is graded on a standard grading scale then:

A = (9/10)p ---- 90%
B = (4/5)p ---- 80%
C = (7/10)p ---- 70%

Where p is the total problems on your test, and A, B, and C are the letter grades. The answer to each equation will give you the number of problems you should have gotten right to get that letter grade.
