I had to do a science report so I picked Haplogroups. I noticed that American Indians and one haplogroup from Caucasians match what does this mean?

Sub-Saharan African: L0, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7
West Eurasian: H, T, U, V, X, K, I, J, W (all listed West Eurasian haplogroups are derived from macro-haplogroup N)[3]
East Eurasian: A, B, C, D, E, F, G (note: C, D, E, and G belong to macro-haplogroup M)
Native American: A, B, C, D, X
Australo-Melanesian: O, P, Q, S

I thought American Indians were not white or asian!?

The research to which you are referring is on DNA genetic testing with regard to migrations from African since the beginning of human life forms on the earth.

If you Google "National Genographic", you will enter the website of those who are tracking human migration and ethnicities from Africa where we all started. During that migration, people passed through every corner and mixed with every race over the thousands of years.

The website can answer your questions.

Native Americans migrated from Asia 10,000 to 20,000 years ago, so it would be reasonable to assume that would share some markers.

There is the "Kenniwick Man" which is an apparently Caucasian man found in WA state which dates back around 9000 years, so the Native Americans may have had other influences as well.
