Iceland has just come in 1st and Canada came in 4th. The United States didn't even make the top 10.

I have never been to Iceland, and I have never spent any appreciable amount of time in Canada, but what would make a county desirable to ME, would be things like this (not presented in any specific order):
<> A government GENUINELY based on the needs of its citizens
<> A solid, stable economy
<> An affordable system of medical care - based on the TRUE welfare of the patient - NOT on the greed of pharmaceutical companies and medical organizations
<> A pleasant and hospitable climate
<> Strong, positive social values
<> A comfortable and convenient level of technology
<> A legal system based on JUSTICE and concern for the TRUTH, rather than one based on competitiveness and restrictive technicalities created by and for special interests
<> A good educational system that values and rewards achievement, teaches and encourages solid values and adheres to strong (but still fair and realistic) standards
In short, a place where the individual matters in ACTUAL FACT, not just in empty rhetoric.

beutiful landscape
low taxes
smart people
very small number of minorities
