There is this scary movie that was on TV many years ago (perhaps 25 or so). The basis was an evil doll that came to life (no, not Chucky) and in the end the girl put the doll in the microwave to kill it. Would love to know what it was called. Thanks.

The Trilogy...I was so scared of that movie!!!! I always watched it whenever it came on late night TV. Remember, she puts the doll in the suitcase and it uses it's knife to saw its way out!!!! I believe it was a Karen Black movie.

The "Night Gallery" suggestion sounds right. I remember an episode of some show where a doll was sent to England from India that had been a gift to an English officer by someone with a well-deserved grudge. It might have even been discarded in India but turned up in England anyhow and given to the officer's daughter.

By the way, I believe the Doug McClure reference is actually to another ABC made-for-TV movie called "The Devil's Triangle" or something similar, about a demon-possessed sole survivor of a wreck in the Bermuda Triangle. The "Trilogy of Terror" spawned the "Night Gallery" series which itself was derived from Rod Serling's earlier "Twilight Zone". The name change must have had something to do with the rights.

I am not sure on the name. It's the one where the doll sort of possesses the girl and the mother keeps trying to get rid of the doll but it keeps appearing. At the end the girl puts it in micorwave. I thought at first that it as the Trilogy of Terror but the only doll on that one (I think) is the doll that her boyfreinds brings her that comes alive.
As I said, i am not sure but good luck.

Man was that a great movie. Trilogy of Terror is correct. That chain fell off of his neck and he came to life. But in the end she was bitten before she killed the doll and she became the evil being. She was stabbing the kitchen floor waiting for her husband to come home, or something like that.

Great now I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight.

I believe what you're thinking of was one part of awful 'horror' film called Trilogy of Terror. ABC televised this a long time ago. I believe Karen Black was in the part you remember. Better still was the part with Doug McClure as a demon killing people on a sailboat [this before Dead Calm ripoff spawned Australian film and Nicole Kidman] (D.M. is the basis for insipid Troy McClure character on The Simpsons, of course!)

Im not sure but perhaps puppet masters? I know those dolls were small enough to put in a microwave and one of them was a barbie that threw up leeches, she would melt if put in the microwave. There was also a little girl in the 1st or second movie of puppet masters.

*******************
Trilogy of Terror (1975 TV) featuring Karen Black.
The third story was about a mother-dominated woman who buys an African Zuni fetish doll for her boyfriend. The doll comes to life and terrorizes her in her own apartment- she ended up killing it by putting it in the microwave but after the doll was killed she became a killer. ....Creepy!

There was an old Night Gallery episiode, where a father brought his daughter back a doll from a foreign business trip. It always wound up on the stairs & looked nasty.

The only scary one that old that I can think of was for the twilight zone movie and the doll was a voodoo doll thrown in an oven
