I like to make people gifts for Christmas because like anyone else with a morgage and bills, this time of year gets tight. :o)

I thought about making the women in my family Christmas cook books. I want to use a small stocking on the outside of the small cookbook so it looks like a stalking book cover.

For the men I am going to make those roasted nuts that you can buy in malls.

Any other good ideas that are not very expensive to make. Last year I made these jars with poupori and chirstmas lights in them and they were a big hit.

Christmas Ornaments: Making these easy Christmas crafts requires very little time and expense. You will need several plain ornaments; you can choose whichever colors you enjoy. You will need glue, glitter, and tubes of craft paint. To make the ornaments covered in glitter simply draw your design with the glue. This is where this easy Christmas craft can become very adult. You can draw very intricate designs that completely cover the ornament or you can choose a simple design. After making your design out of glue carefully apply the glitter. If you do not do this carefully, you will mess up your design. To create the ornaments with paint, simply choose an ornament and a color of paint that matches really well. Then just draw your design on the ornament with the paint and let it dry. To let these ornaments dry, I suggest placing a hook in the top of the ornament and hanging it somewhere, where the glue or paint will not be touched. For example, you could run a string across the room and then hang the ornaments off of the string until they dry.

Picture Frames: At Christmas, there are so many beautiful picture frames that have a holiday theme. But, why spend the money on these expensive frames, when you could make your own? Making your own Christmas picture frames is such an easy Christmas craft that anyone could do. All you need is a plain picture frame with a large outer boarder, hot glue, regular glue, glitter, and small Christmas ornaments. There are two ways that you can make this easy Christmas craft. The first way, simply involves drawing designs with the glue and then adding glitter. The second way, involves placing the small ornaments on the frame, using hot glue. There are so many cute Christmas ornaments that are made for small Christmas trees and those work perfectly for these frames. You could also combine the two techniques.

i made both and every one loved them.

I am making this this year Candy Trees

Supplies
12-inch Styrofoam cone
Wrapped candies, such as peppermints, LifeSavers, Sweet Tarts, or other favorites
T-pins (from a craft store)
Wired sheer ribbon
Glass pedestal dish

Instructions
Start to decorate the Styrofoam cone with a row of candies around the base. To attach the candies, poke a floral T-pin through each candy wrapper and push the pin into the cone at a downward angle until the pin is nearly tight against the surface.
Continue up the cone, adding rows of candy to cover it completely.
Cut two lengths of sheer ribbon. To create spiral-effect, wrap ribbon around pencil. Pin both strands of ribbon to top of tree, one on top of the other.
Make a small loop bow and pin in center top of tree.
Set on the table or elevate the tree on a glass pedestal or pillar candleholder (securing with Tacky Wax).

Note: Since pins are used in this craft, be sure to use caution when making or displaying this tree around very young children (or curious pets).

Homemade candles and soap are usually big hits too. Also, jams and jellies, especially if they're unusual types like huckleberry or maybe a cherry blackberry or something.
