That's a very silly and shallow argument against privatization in general.
Because there's this thing called "easement" that prevents any person or entity from restricting your access (or anybody else's access) to your property.
With sidewalks on personal property, for example, the homeowner is forced to pay for the upkeep of the sidewalk, and to maintain it's usability (such as shoveling snow off it) and is even liable for any personal injury that occurs on it. But even though it runs thru his private property, the owner cannot restrict access.
That's how it is for public streets and sidewalks.

Well.. no.
Although, I wouldn't be surprised if this did happen... with toll booths set up every mile. Have you ever driven through Ohio going North... every 20 miles there is a toll booth and if you don't pay, you have to get off the road. It's ridiculous.
