Yes, that is how I started life. My family was in the 'working poor' category. When I started life on my own, it was, unfortunately, during the Carter administration. Anyone who did not live through it cannot imagine it. Talk about mortgages, the interest rate for a mortgage was higher than we pay for credit cards today! Unemployment was so high, people with PHD's were driving cabs.
Yes, I started out living paycheck to paycheck barely squeaking by with my wife and two sons depending on me. The hardest part was convincing my wife that we could some day buy a house.
We did eventually thanks to Ronald Reagan and his stellar economic reforms. Now we no longer live that way. We have a big house with a huge front porch in a nice neighborhood and three cars. To tell you the truth, we are far better off than we had a right to expect. It all served to make me really appreciate where I am, today.

that's usually my case. I have two kids and I make $13.48 an hour.... but I do have a 2178 sq.ft. house, a nice car, minivan and all kinds of nice goodies to put in all of them :)
I live paycheck to paycheck because I'm a spending wh0re!

Doing it now. Since gas keeps going up....and I commute 30 miles to work everyday, filling up my SUV is costing me half my pay! I am looking into a less gas guzzling vehicle after winter is over.

Every day of my life. It sucks during the "present-buying season." If you buy presents, then your whole money schedule is screwed up and you end up easting ramen for a week before you get paid again. Sucks.

In the early days of our 38 year marriage, yes. Fortunately, my husband is an excellent money manager.

Not technically, cuz I have a decent savings account in the bank to fall back on. If it weren't for that, I'd probably be living check to check.
