I am curious where are they coming from?
And why in one time of your life you could think positive and other time to feel crap?
Is it possible to fight them without medication?

Wow this is hard. Negative thoughts orignate usually from negative experiences in your life. Whether that be lingering ptsd, or depression.
Many people have things that have happened to them in the past-and it's not always something like molestation. It can be a teacher making them to feel bad, a parent, friend , or sibling may have said something negative that sticks with them and makes them feel bad.
Only a professional can diagnose what you need to do.

Please don't take medication!

The key is not repressing your emotions. A lot of the time we feel socially pressured not to show negative emotions and i think this goes (unfortunatley) double for working women who have to "compete" with males who make a big thing about not showing weaknesses.

Let me take a guess: You feel fine for 2 maybe even 3 weeks (sometimes more) and then suddenly your wave crashes and you go through several days where everything is negative, you see no point to anything and nothing seems to be going right.

This is actually pretty normal in the modern world. Emotions need to be heard, you spend 2-3 weeks ignoring the bad stuff and enjoying the good but eventually it gets too much and the bad emotions need to be vented.

There are different ways to deal with this: One is to get better at venting bad emotions regularly. If something upsets you find someone to talk to about it as soon as possible (your mum, a close friend, your boyfriend), don't be afraid to share and get it out, these will be a very small excercises compared to the week long agony of having the wave crash down on you.

Teach yourself that having a negative emotion is not a crime, just something you need to give a bit of time too rather than letting it pile up on you.

When the wave crashes, as it probably will, you have to force yourself to talk to someone as soon as possible (and believe me i know how hard this is), let everything out and don't sit their stewing if you want it to end, if you get better at this and you vent in small parts regularly as i said above, the crashes will get shorter and shorter.

Of a course a useful thing to have is a good listener, this is what councillors do, they simply encourage you to explore emotions rather than holding them in. Its also what i try and do for my girlfriend with varying degrees of success! :p

When you begin feeling negatively it's probably only because you're not taking the time to think about everything that is good in your life. When you begin to feel like crap it's because your being somewhat selfish, wanting things to be better even if you do have a really good life (everyone goes through those crappy times) but you have to learn to just sit back and think about all the good in your life and yes you will feel better- without taking medication =]

It's our attitude towards life , and unless we make a very strong effort to change it to positive thinking , negative thoughts will flood our mind.
i do not think any medication would help, but if the negative attidude is leading to depression, we can resort to ant-depressents under advice and supervision of a consulting psychiatrist.
i think the roots of negative thoughts are based on our childhood experiences , with parents , and the world.
child abuse must be the main cause of an individual growing up with a negative attitude towards the world.
in extreme cases, it can also lead to serious mental problems.
Seen Halloween ?
the child grows to be a serial killer.

depression , PMS.. or having one bad incident happen after another...we all have those days but if they last too long medication is the way to go.... antidepressants are an amazing to help ease the anxiety and and help you in an amazing way work out your problems as they come . it takes a few days to start having positive effects but as soon as yo take the first pill the anxiety (worry feeling) goes away and you start seeing things in a different perspective..

the origin of crappy thoughts is holding in a fart, its stays in and travels up your spine where it sits in your brain... or maybe not lols

Mood swings are hormonal, sometimes we feel great, other times terrible, theres a few things that you can do that will supposedly keep you positiive, like regular exercise, not working too hard all the time, taking time to be with friends, natural sunlight, natural remedies and failing that good old prozac!

The origin of all negative thoughts and aberrations are things in our body called Engrams. These Engrams can be treated and erased through Dianetic therapy. Feel free to message me to find out more, I'd be happy to help. :)
