Go to "download.com" It's 100% free and 100% legal. It's mainly for new artists. They will let you listen to a bunch of their tunes and download one or two free mp3s. Good way to hear new artists.

It's called stealing. Use iTunes, pay for your music, and then you'll legally own it.

Whatever, guys. Borrowing is not stealing. If someone gives me permission to use their CDs, then it is not stealing. Clearly this is a sign of disrespect if you think borrowing and stealing are the same.

Yes, using software to download music for free is stealing. People in the music industry are not getting paid for the work they've done. Until everything becomes free, and we strive towards a world where betterment of our species is the driving force, instead of greed, it is stealing. It's amazing how many people seem to twist copyright laws for their own purpose.

And comparing radio to CDs is not the same. Radio receives income from other sources, such as advertising. If only one person bought a CD, and then 'shared' it with everyone else, what would happen to the music industry as we know it? I'm not saying that changes should be made (I think they should), but as of right now, it is stealing.

The first few people who answered this are stupid. Next time they borrow a CD from a friend or family member, they stole it. First of all, it's not stealing, it's sharing. If I made profit frmo it, it would be theft. But till then, go to Limewire, use any sharing program and share away. It's for personal use, just like radio, i guess I steal airwaves too when I listen to it on my way home.

It depends on what you want to download it to-a CD or MySpace, Facebook, or whatever. I use Project Playlist for my online web spaces.
