I was told that it was not Larry Doby who hit no home runs in his abbreviated first season (1947).

It was Willard Brown of the St. Louis Browns on August 13, 1947.

Larry Doby didn't homer until 1948.

It was indeed Brown, a factoid that surfaced last year when he was elected to the Hall by the special committee.
