First, I not understand what do you mean by a falling retaining wall, or a failing retaining wall. So that you need to build a buttress to support that wall. How about the foundation of that wall, soft? or hard enough. Second, how about ground water behind the retaining wall? If there is water behind the retaining wall, then you should make holes on the wall distribute the holes and make holes to be porous, release the water pressure acting behind the retaining wall. You can build a buttress in front of the retaining wall to support it, or you can make some piles behind the retaining with wires, one end on those piles and another on the retaining wall to pull the retaining wall Practically doing is through the wire to the front face of the retaining wall and ending with a wooden plate or a log. Anyway retaining wall is useful and important but simple civil works . You can certainly get help from neighbouring friends. If I were your neighbour I will certainly willing to help you!

If the wall is falling, don't put a band aid over a bullet hole by putting a buttress in. Your best bet is to tear down and rebuild. Why invest the time and money into something you may have to repair again in a few years. If you start over, you can correct whatever issure caused it to move in the first place. Improper drainage is the major cause of retaining wall failure and the only way to correct it is to tear it down. Good drainage, good foundation, good wall. Go to www.unilock.com for proper retaining wall guidelines.

If you want to start a woodworking project, you need all the necessary information, including schematics, blueprints, materials lists, dimensions etc. That is where Teds Woodworking comes in. The plans are clearly drawn and there're step-by-step explainations of how the plan should be done and put together. Go here https://tr.im/GBSWQ
There are several other sites whose collection of plans have the dimensions totally wrong without any indication of parts lists, material lists or the tools needed. If you're one of those people who have bought plans like this in the past, Teds Woodworking will change your perception.

You might want to supply us with more information if you want a good answer....
-What is the wall retaining?
-What is the wall constructed out of?
-What are the dimensions of the wall?
-Is the buttress temporary or permanent?
-Does the buttress need to look good?

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface.
