If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler (mystery/adventure/drama type). I would suggest you start the books from the first; some of the story lines tend to follow into subsequent novels.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These fiction books by Clive Cussler are well-written.

If you want to get to know the book of Revelation in the bible, The 'Left Behind' series is an awesome account of people who are left behind at the rapture of the church. There is also a book that came out about a year ago called 'Maravich' written by Pete Maravich' widow Jackie that is really good about the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. Go to maravichbook to watch the highlight reel of this basketball magician.

Since you're a sophomore in college, I strongly recommend the master pieces of Paulo Coelho. He has been very popular in his field of writing excellent books of mysteries, adventures and life-changing real life scenes that transforms mostly of his readers. His books depicts the reality of world of which he vividly had given twists and thrills that will keep you upbeat for reading til the last leaf of the book.
It's very affordable and highly recommended to any ages. This will I guess keep you away from your boredom. I enjoyed much of it and already collected all of his books, read every book and got shared to others.
One good thing about his books is that it keeps your mind working to think that in the end, leaves you a great and real-life lesson.
So gear up and start now. Happy reading!
