Why only in certain jobs and politics?

Why not in all areas? Like the areas where equality would actually give men an advantege. Like abortion rights, military, child custody, crime punishment, etc?

Why even have seperate bathrooms and prisons?

Why do feminists only bring attention to the physical differences between men and women while ignoring the emotional, mental and hormonal differences that make men better suited for certain tasks/jobs?

Please tell me what EXACTLY is hateful about this question. I said "feminists" not "women" so how am I a woman hater? You hear what you want to hear... not what I'm actually saying it seems..

Very simple. They want rights without responsibility for women and to a lesser degree but still viable, responsibility without rights for men. That is equality as defined and designed by feminism.

They want the good without the bad as is very well pointed out in the fact that women have many choices in reproduction including that of abandoning an infant while withholding the same rights from men who are no less connected to the same infant after birth.

When an unintended pregnancy occurs, women are only as responsible as the choose to be while the men are also as responsible as the women choose for them to be. To feminists, this is equal. In reality it is sexism.

"Why not in all areas? Like the areas where equality would actually give men an advantege. Like abortion rights, military, child custody, crime punishment, etc?"

So...by "equality" in abortion rights, do you mean giving men the ability to force a woman to have an abortion, or force her NOT to have an abortion? That is NOT equality in the least. If anything, that's more of an inequality than leaving the decision up to the woman whose body it's in. Accept it: there will ALWAYS be *some* inequality in terms of reproductive rights, but since women are the ones whose bodies are on the line here, then between the two genders women are the ones who should be favored. How would you like it if the tables were turned, and women had the ability to force you into an abortion or into going through an unwanted pregnancy?

Also, how would total equality give men any advantage at all in child custody? If it's totally equal, men and women would be on equal footing, so men would have no advantage. It would be fair to both sexes. Men would be at less of a disadvantage than they are now, but certainly no advantage.

Also, how would equality give men an advantage in crime punishment? Clearly, we need separate bathrooms and prisons for both men's and women's sakes, but if women received punishment as harsh as men's for the same crimes, how would that possibly benefit men? It would be unfortunate for the women involved (then again, they're criminals so who cares?), but that really has no bearing on a man's situation.

Also, precisely what emotional, mental, and hormonal differences are you referring to, and how would that make a man better at any job than a woman? I can see where physical differences come into play and men should be the ones who do the very physical jobs, but in terms of jobs that use the brain, what is it that you think men can do better?

I can't believe you put "equality" and "advantage" in the same sentence. By definition, if things are equal then no one has an advantage.

I want to know how you think "equality" over abortion gives you an advantage. Unless you mean to force a woman to remain pregnant, essentially a human incubator. And I have to agree with the other posters, until you can bear children, I control whether or not I have an abortion.

As for bathrooms, I'm sorry, but there is no way I'm bringing my 5 year old daughter into a unisex bathroom for her to see you shaking it off or allowing my 10 year old (male or female) to go into the restroom unattended. However, I do believe, in terms of plumbing, that you CAN achieve separate but equal facilities. But question for you.. How does having separate toilet facilities equate to women having an advantage?

Otherwise, yes, changes need to be made to the child custody and crime punishment areas of society. Child custody is often sometimes split 50-50, but still the mother gets primary custody more often than the father does. And I don't think it's fair that the same crime carries a lesser punishment for women.

Its just human nature to want the good things but not the bad, but to turn it into a political movement and take the moral high ground is a bit rich.

The abortion issue is interesting, and I feel very sorry for anyone (or any couple) facing this decision. However I really don't see why feminists say 'Its my body so I can do what I want'. Its obvious that the fetus ts connected to your body, but is it actually part of your body? Crabs are connected to your body too, but do you want to claim these as an actual part of your body?

The selfish and callous attitude of feminists on this issue also conveniently ignores the fact that 'it takes two to tango'. If two people bake a cake together - even if the contribution of one of them is only to contribute a vital ingredient - its a bit unfair for the woman to throw it in the bin despite the man's protests that the cake is partly his too.

Do you think the men who have moved into jobs that have been historically women's work, feel the same way as you do? Should we tell them that, no, you can't be a waiter, a nurse, a secretary, a house husband, a hair dresser, or own a cleaning service, etc.? Do we tell them that they might be the minority of guys who are emotional and mentally well suited for those job but that doesn't matter because they have a penis? Men as well as women have more choices now. What is wrong with that?

The separate bathroom issue is just silly. Do you really want to stand in long lines behind women, children and men? This is not an equality issue. It's common sense and safety.

I agree with some of the things you say - particularly about parents' rights and military service. I do think women should have equal opportunities, which includes doing those jobs that men have traditionally done, like fire-fighting, but only if their performance doing the job is equal to a man's. There's not many women that could carry 45lb of breathing apparatus , and then sling an average man over their shoulder - not impossible, but they must be capable or they put others at risk. I think the key is we should all have equal opportunities, but we also see that we are broadly different, with varying skills, although there will always be exceptional women equal to men in strength and courage and exceptional men equally capable of caring and nurturing!

Feminists DO want equality in all areas of life, but circumstances such as abortion make it impossible, since only women carry and deliver the babies. So that one will always be lopsided. Equal opportunity for the military, child custody, and crime and punishment is also desired, even if equal outcome appear to prove otherwise. And I don't even like going to the bathroom in a room full of other women, so let's keep those segregated. Thank you.

There is only one of those situations where a man should NEVER have the advantage, and that is abortion. It is not HIS body, so he should not be allowed to make her get one/not get one, because he doesn't own her. OTOH, if she brings a child into this world he doesn't want, he should be allowed to abort his responsibility and sign his rights away and never have anything to do with the child(on the same token, if he does want to be in the child's life, the mother shouldn't keep him from his child if she has the child).

You're joking, right?

I'm not a feminist and I do believe that men are better suited for certain tasks and jobs, just as I believe women are better suited for certain tasks and jobs. I also feel that if I can do the same job as a man I expect the same pay. Making $.90 on the dollar in any job is just simply unfair.

I'm not sure how you think there is inequality between men and women in the military - the women I know who are serving don't get any special treatment.

As far as separate bathrooms, it's simply logistics. Men pee standing up, women pee sitting down. So women don't want to see on a toilet seat covered in pee and men don't want to see used maxi-pads in the bathroom.

Abortion rights and child custody I do agree that there is a bias against men and I do think that is something that as a society needs to be worked on.

Feminists DON'T ignore the emotional, mental and hormonal differences between men and women. It should be fair to allow women into other areas of the military if she so chooses. Women are often denied jobs or advancement because of sexism at the workplace, and earning a living is a basic right that women need to fight for. We don't have co-ed bathrooms and co-ed prisons because of the liability and threat of violence and rape. This is done for safety purposes and to protect the liability of the facilities if such crimes are committed, and bathrooms and changing rooms are private. There are male prison guards in women's prisons and lots of them are having sex with inmates, raping them, violating them. This is why bathrooms are not co-ed, and I don't think men belong in women's prisons for that reason. Feminists are not like the kkk, because feminism is not about hating men. The kkk actually have rights - they just hate specific types of people out of ignorance. Feminists don't hate men - it's about getting women the rights and opportunities in life fair and square like men have. When men see women fighting for these things, they interpret it as an attack on men - but it's not. When men's bodies can get pregnant, let them share the very same abortion rights. And I think both sexes should share the same child custody (letting the CHILD go where it wants to), and crime punishment. But you are WRONG about "mental and hormonal differences making men better suited for certain jobs"! That is a groundless, ignorant, sexist remark and if you really believe that, you don't really have a grip on human nature. Women can be every bit as suitable and rational as men.
