We still HAVE personal freedoms because of President Bush's policies. Can you name any personal freedoms YOU have lost because of George Bush's policies?

Haven't lost any because I am not a terrorist and therefore targeted. That is not to say that in the future that "Big Brother" doesn't decide to take that up a notch and target non terrorist, say people who disagree with the way the government is run. I am not comfortable, that the government can "invade privacy" without a checks and balance system. I also am not comfortable that we enact a "act" instead of going through the constitutional amendment process when we start dealing with personal freedoms and rights. If the Patriot Act is a good thing, then it should stand the test of a constitutional amendment process and we citizens would have a say in what rights we are willing to give up for our safety. I agree we should aggressively target terrorist and go after them, but we should do it within the confines of our own constitution when it could affect an individual citizens rights. Notice I am not talking about a foreigners rights, they can take their issues up with their own government, I am speaking only of a citizen of the United States, and we citizens owe it to our fellow citizens to do everything in our power to protect their individual rights because once you start whittling away at your neighbors rights, it won't be long until they get around to whittling away yours.

How deep is your head in the sand? Will you have to be in a straight jacket for being a dissenter before you really notice? I would imagine you are all for cameras at red lights too. It doesn't affect you until you become collateral damage right? And then what? Because of the apathy you support nobody will care to help your cause because you are "collateral damage". If you claim to be a conservative then you can't possibly support some of the policies he's implemented. A true conservative like me would prefer to take his chances all day long. But you keep on with the party line.

Face it guy we have lost rights under every president we have had. What we call freedom the Americans of old would call a gilded cage.

We have no right to our property, our second amendment rights have steadily been whittled away at, you can be arrested for intoxicating yourself in your home, free travel is compromised by the laws that make it mandatory to be licensed and insured, you are numbered and tracked from birth.

We have traded freedom for chains.

I have secret service people following me around whereever I go, spying on me. Every time I turn around, they hide around corners or camoflauge themselves as shrubs and telephone poles. But I know they're there.

I know that any time I get on the phone, there is a chance i could be monitored. I know that anytime I go to the airport, I get the random patdown.
