Some promise because they really believe that they can keep this promise. But on the way, they realize they cannot.
Some promise to get advantages. Promise doesn't cost a thing.... This kind of promise, hurts. When we realize that they were fake....

I think most people just say things they don't mean to save face at the time...never realizing that their lack of fulfillment would hurt someone.
Sometimes, too, we sort of back people in to a corner with our wants and desires and they just say what they think you want to hear so they can get out of the situation at the moment.
The world would most definitely be a better place if everyone learned that the truth always works best in the long run.

This happened to me yesterday, and it hurt me too :( I guess they make the promise to make you happy at the time, and then they get selfish and neglectful when the time actually comes for them to fullfill their promise and they just don't do it.

so they can get a good laugh out of breaking your heart.
oh, wait, i see you noticed that as well. *sighs* sometimes i think people promise because they really intend to do it, but then something comes up and they forget about it, and you. I dont think it's on purpose..... i just think that something else comes along that they see as more important, and they forget. I've had that happen to me, but who hasn't?
IDK...... i try to follow through on my promises, because i would want someone to do that for me. And because i don't promise unless i mean it. â¥

We live in a very selfish, self-absorbed society and you have to be aware of that at all times even with family and friends. It's sad to say but you have to be one step ahead of everybody today...

No, obviously they don't. I've been hurt a lot of times that way. I don't trust anyone 100% anymore. It's sad, but true. But I guess that that's for the best anyway... No one can be trusted... except for me... He he.

I often wonder myself. I've had it with false promises. It's all about actions now.
