The best response to a know it all is to look at them, pause a second, smile and say "Yes, of course." and then move on. Why waste your time and energy on those who are only looking for attention? Moreover, why respond to such a person with some immature response? All this does is set him/her up further and you less so. "Better to keep your mouth closed and thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

I knew a know it all and a friend and I set him up once. In a conversation about trees, I made up a name for a tree we had in our yard, to which the know it all gave me a latin name. We didn't call him on it, but from then on, we pretty much ignored all this guy had to say.
