in my notes i wrote down "identity by area" for the city-states chapter.
but i have no idea what it means lyk i cant remember.

does anyone have any guesses on what it has to do with citystates?

I think its a clue to remember the city states.

Probably the fact that the city-states were separated and shown apart by their area. The Athenian ruled area was around Athens, the same with the Spartans, etc.

the main city in Greece is Athens.
