I thought it had to do with being top answerer, but apaprently it isn't. By the way, regarding some remarks on being top answerer, I would like to let you to feel free to look at my best answers. You will notice that:
1. none of them is given to me by my so-called "friends", but by complete strangers who found them useful, and even by people who are against me now, when they were still objective.
2. I was near that rank long before I even met the "friends".
3. Most of my answes and my best answers are in the section pets, or mathematics, etc. Which proves I am not trying to be top answerer, and frankly I couldn't care less. I am top at what I do in real life. I don't use Y!A to make up for my complexes.

I was just ondering about the top contributor labels.

To Airpole:

Honestly I cannot really see any rationale in your answers as well.

1. How can anyone be ousted from a place such as Yahoo? Does this imply that someone else was ousted during the previous top answerer as well?

2. Apparently some "friends" don't want your friendship. Fine by me! How that prevents you from answering any questions or even more being a top contributor?

3. Being a top contributor yourself and wondering about the real life of others -outside Yahoo- makes no sense really.

4. Who is hiding behind avatars or multiple accounts? By definition, top answerers most certainly not as they try to keep their own avatar on top.

5. Top answerers cannot "be closed like oysters in their shells". On the contrary! They are out there answering.

6. You seem to be able to trace your ancestors as far back as...the 10th century. And you even have proofs! Most animal pets do have as well. But trust me, I do have proofs that date as far back as few thousand years ago ever since Homo Sapiens appeared on earth. These are public records. Are you a more recent species than me? Less evolved? Smarten up...

1 First, start by choosing a category you like most. Please note a Member can earn the TC badge in up to 3 Categories. You should choose a Category that you feel most comfortable in. For example: If you find that you are good at answering single and dating answers, you should consider joining the single and dating Category to answer questions related to that subject.

2 Remain Active... Answering questions only on certain days will not guarantee you the TC badge; you must remain active in the category of your choice. For example: Your boss would likely fire you after realizing you work when you feel like to. The same applies on earning the TC badge; you cannot answer questions ONLY on Tuesdays, you must remain active throughout the week. Of course not that I am saying you must answer every single day. Missing a day or two is fine. I am going to elaborate more about this issue later. For now, let’s move on to number 3

3 Best Answer: Whenever someone chooses your answer as best answer, it is an indication of your great contribution to the asker’s question. This proves your great quality, willingness, effort and contribution in a particular Category, which will then help possible your chances of becoming a TC... In other words, best answer proves your contribution on Yahoo! Questions and Answers Community... Unfortunately, best answer alone does not possible your chances of becoming a TC, you must remain active in the category of your choice.

4 The loss of the TC Badge. While Yahoo! Is grateful in giving us the TC badge for providing excellent answers and information to the community, Yahoo! Is also aggressive in taking the TC badge away from us in just one week for failing to remain active in the category of our choice.

5 Points you need to earn at the end of the week. Glamorous Points indicate how active you are on Yahoo! Questions and Answers site. I personally suggest you to earn more than 200 points a week in a single category. This will help better your chances of becoming a TC in just one week... If you failed to become a TC at the beginning of a week, do not give up. Repeat the process again for another week.

6 Remember I mentioned I would elaborate on your activity? Good! Now let us finish this up... How long should I spend in a specific category?

Answer: Spend at least half an hour in the morning, then later down in the night or so, spend an hour or two. Do this daily ( remember you may skip a day or two) to stay active in the category of your choice.

just answer as much answers in one section... i think it's also important some of them to be chosen as best... yeah, i am at the top 5 answerers in Other-Europe but i'm a top contributor from recently... maybe because i used to answer questions from other sections too...

yeah, i agree with you, that's not important, most of us are here to waste some time and maybe learn something, but if feels a bit nice to have that badge ;o)

regards

OK, I think that TC is someone who gives the best answer in a subject that are knowledgable about.....they get a lot of BAs and they get to the top.
'Nough said, let's all get along together and "be all right"
Peace!

I think that you would probably have to ask your questions in the right forum first

it doesnt have any worth i think, some people did everything to expulse others from this section, and you see the result...
Edit"Some people they dont care as they say for the badge no?Thats why they are sending emails to others saying be careful of this one of that one etc...
Now they got their badge, where is their problem?Or we forget a message of a Serbian saying''Now the top answerer is a greek''?
According to her, greeks we dont have rights,or all these people they really dont care about badges and places?

My opinion is that being top contributor or top answerer means absolutely nothing for people who use Q/A only for fun and not as a substitute of real life.
And as a friend of yours I know you don't need any such title or rank, as in real life you are a distinguished person.
