i asked a similar q in mythology but now, i'm taking a poll here. how many of you think the boards are truly dangerous and why? who thinks it's just for fun and the spirit world thoughts are a way for makers to sell boards?

Penn & Teller proved it was fake in an episode of their cable television show Bull ****! in which the operators moved the planchette into what they thought was the positions of "yes" and "no" without knowing that the board was turned upside-down, which caused them to move the planchette into blank spaces on the board. They also proved that you wouldn't be able to form coherent sentences with it while blindfolded.
What is going is the ideomotor effect not hoodoos and voodoos. You're not talking to your dead grandmother or the ghost of Adolf Hitler you are experiencing a psychological reaction.

Well,personally I don't believe in the supernatural.But after watching The Exorcist,I feel that if the world was according to that.Ouija Boards would be more dangerous than guns.

i believe they are real most doubt and im just like well try it you arnt moving it now are you..
and hell yeah i believe they are dangerous you would never want to get on a spirits wrong side more of with religon but yeah how about the fact of karma.
but beware some things what it says are false and yeah i only did it once for fun and i didnt believe in it and i still sometime doubt it but my friends are all superstious and al that so yeah thats my long opinion.

With my experience with them, I cannot recommend messing with them. You are just inviting trouble into your life. I ended up burying mine b/c of the havoc it caused and b/c I believe an evil spirit visited my body and I got VERY sick from it. Believe me or not but thats my thoughts on the subject.

Me and some friends were playing atround with one after class and I asked something like:
' Will I pass my year and get into college?' and that stupid board replied:
'God Forbid'
I threw it away but I think my friends were just taking the piss.
How can that even work its just cardboard???

I think, like anything, if put in the wrong hands they can be dangerous.
I had one as a pre-teen. And for me and my friends that played with it, it was just for fun.

Yeah those things aren't toys and shouldn't be treated as such. They're definetly dangerous.

i have always been border-line paranoid about them. i have read many stories and videos that terrify me. when i found out that my girlfriend had one i said i wouldn't even go to her room again unless she got rid of it. she did. interesting question, im surprised more people aren't answering it. well it is in the middle of the day and i should be in class now.

I used to play with one when I was young and yes, they definitely are evil. I wouldn't play with one now! Too spooky!
