Since the problem is cured by reboot, it is highly unlikely to be a memory (or any hardware) problem. Most likely, there is something wrong on the software side. Either your computer has a virus or there is a legitimate, but poorly written, program suffering from a defect called "memory leak".
You should try to track memory usage as the day progresses. This way, you will know which program is the culprit. Your next step would be determined by the offender you identify...

It's possible you may have virus(es)/spyware running on your computer which may be slowing it down as you keep using it. Rebooting your laptop is just a temporary solution because the viruses/spyware will just pop-up again. They don't go away on their own. I suggest you download some free software that can clean up most/all of the viruses on your laptop. You should run the program at least once a month if you're visiting suspect websites that are adding these malicious programs to your laptop. Adding a firewall to your laptop may help as well. Zonealarm has a free version of their firewall software and it seems to keep my laptop fairly clean.

Start Up Objects or from the Uninstalling Applications Problems ..
There's many ways to solve slowing computer, ex: try to run your Windows in Safe Mode then check if there any viruses or not, if not, try to defrag, compress, clean and fix ur partition errors .
Good Luck .. :)

Yes I would say the memory. Its not enough to run task through out the day. If you max out the ram you will see big difference.
