(2x + 3)(x - 3)
When I was taking alebra I had a hard time with these. The first two of each ( ) was easy for me, but the second set of numbers always stumped me. The way I figured them out was this: Figure out your factors of the last number (ie 9 = (9*1) or (3*3)) Then plug them into your trinomial factor layout and use foil and trial and error to find the right one.

And to check your work here is an online factoring calculator. Just plug in the trinomial and it will factor it for you,..... But please don't neglect learning how to do it yourself. Please only use this as a tool to check yourself if you need to.

It actually is if you use a little trial and error:
It comes to (2x+3)(x-3)
You can check: If you FOIL, you get: 2x^2+3x-6x-9 or 2x^2-3x-9

Find the discriminant: b^2-4ac and check whether if it is a perfect square.
2x^2-3x-9
a=2
b=-3
c=-9
b^2-4ac
(-3)^2-(4)(2)(-9)
9+72
81
81 is perfect square therefore it is factorable
