Your question is a little vague.. Do you mean an instrument that falls into both those categories? If so, a harpsichord would be an obvious example.

Let's try:
In general there are stringinstruments.
Some of them are bowed, others plucked and others are hitten.(by stick, hammers or something)

1) Bowed instruments.
All are played with a bow made from wood and hair from a horsetail.
* The most obvious, The Violin
* a little bigger, The viola,
* The (Violon)Cello and
* The double Bass.

* There used to be a family of Viola de Gamba's. They where also bowed.

2) Plucked instruments
* The Guitar
* The Mandolin
* The Banjo
* The Harp

* Sometimes the Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass are also plucked, it's called pizzicato, but they remain Bowed Strings.

3) Keyed Instruments.
This is a bit tricky. There are a lot, so let's simply start.
* Piano,
* Keyboard
* Organ
* Harpsichord
* Synthesizer
* Celesta
and so on, but Hey!! They al have key's, but they don't all have strings.

* The Piano has Strings
* The Keyboard Has Electronics
* The Organ is in fact a Wind Instrument. It's in fact a kind of giant Flute ensemble played with keys.
* The Harpsichord has strings that are plucked when you press a key. This is a Plucked Key Instrument
* The Synthesizer Has Electronics and
* The Celesta is played on small metal plates with keys.

So only the Piano and the Harpsichord are string instruments.

I hope this is of any help.

You put on some clothes, take a dip in frozen lava, then plant flowers when you die. I'm sorry, did that not make sense? Well neither did your question!

Another question in gibberish. Do you really expect to get a decent answer to this rubbish?
