I bled heavily for about 5 minutes, there was a pain that felt identical to period pain. There were no clots in the blood. I'v been to docs and hospital and everything looks ok, I have a scan tomorrow to check on my baby but im going out of my mind! Has anyone had a similar experience or can explain what this is likely to be?
Also how is it possible for the lining of the womb to change but the baby stay in there and be ok?
Thank you in advance x

Hi there, i Know exactley how your feeling as i bled at 7 weeks and 17 weeks, and im now 28 weeks and baby is doing just fine, kicking like mad.
Please dont let anyone stress you by their answers saying it might be a miscarrage as this is not always the case.

I had a scan at 7 weeks when i first bled and all the scan could show as the baby is still very tiny, is the tiny flicker of a heart beat, its still an amazing feeling.

Im not sure how to go about sending you an email of my 7 weeks scan, the only way i can do it is for you to sedn me your email address. andreagaz111@aol.com if you send an email to this address i send you a pic of my 7 weeks scan and 17 weeks scan and my 21 week scan if you want to see them.

Hi, I had the same thing at weeks and 1 day pregnant. Went to my doctor who transferred me to the Early Pregnancy unit at my local hospital. They tried to the ultra sound but could not a clear picture so I had the internal scan. They found 2 sacs and 2 babies which was a shock but also a relief as there were 2 heartbeats. I had to go back in at 7 weeks 1 day as there was more bleeding but again the babies heartbeats were still strong. The scan that time found I had a small area of bleed in the uterus, this can be left over from the implantation bleeding and ive been told its nothing to worry about and should not effect the babies. I hope all goes well on your scan try not to panic too much - i know thats easier said then done as ive been there. Best of luck please let us know how you get on xxx

Bleeding some in very early pregnancy can be normal, or can be a miscarriage. It's hard to distinguish that early which one it is. If you go for a vaginal ultrasound this week, you will most likely NOT be able to see a baby or a heart beat yet. It's about a week too early for any of that. You will get a better view and much more information about how your baby is doing NEXT week (when you are 6+ weeks). Even just the heart beat is enough indication that you still have a baby inside of you and it is doing fine. I hope everything works out for the best!

I bled when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and had bright red blood running down my leg, but I didn't have any cramps or anything. The bleeding stopped and I went to the Dr. the next day and he told me I had placenta previa. This could be what is going on with you. Hope everything turns out well. Good Luck.

Bleeding during pregnancy is actually more common than people think and most of the time harmless, but it's always a good idea to get checked out! Just listen to the Doc, I'm sure everything is okay! A lot of times in early pregnancy your body just sheds the old blood!

If you have been to the docs and they seem to think everything is ok then trust them, if they thought that maybe you was losing the baby they would of sent you straight up for a scan.
Sometimes you can lose some blood early on in pregnacy so you must take it really easy for the first 12 weeks as this is the crucial time.
I hope you are not in work today, if not put your feet up and try and relax.I am a mum of 3 and i lost blood early on with one of mine.
Good luck for tomorrow. x

Hi this happended to me last sunday night. I had bleeding for about 5 mins i went to the hospital etc and they got me in for a scan which was yesterday. Everything was fine and we saw the baby and the heartbeat....it was brilliant. They could not find a cause for the bleeding and said it was probably because sex had been a little to deep and to take it easy....so now were all fine and cant wait. Im 10w 3d

With my first pregnancy, I bled with my son at 7 weeks....bright red blood...and the ER prepared me for a miscarriage. Upon doing the ultrasound, my little guy had a strong heartbeat....and I never ended up miscarrying. The doctors explained that it was probably just the gestational sac shifting position or burying itself deeper, which can cause some fresh blood.

I hope all is well with you and the baby.

In some cases the lining where the baby is not attached is shed during the early parts of pregnancy. Its not common, but it happens to some women.

My cousin bled heavily like she was on her period for the first 5 months of her pregnancy.

Make sure you are satisfied with the doctors answers and make sure you feel alright with them. Leave no looming questions. Take your vitamins and do not do anything strenuous. I had a miscarriage one month and two days ago. However, people bleed and the baby is fine and they are fine. Congrats and don't worry too much! : )
