Schools block MySpace and other sites so you will focus on LEARNING! Look at how you have tortured spelling and the English language.
I think you have it all wrong, it's not the schools who are "stupid" but the students who do not wish to learn.

I'm on the stupid computer right now at school and they're making us send emails to the teacher. Were blocked over here too. We can't get on myspace but theres another site thats called Yahoo 360. Its like myspace but with less people and it isn't blocked.

Well, not to sound so parental but highschool kids shouldn't be on myspace at school! I have heard that A LOT of you kids spend A LOT of your time on myspace. It's suppossed to be a hobby right? However, it seems to consume most of young adults life. Myspace has gotten so big and lot's of people are joining the community that my office had to block it, so Highschools aren't the only places stopping you!!

I remember when school had these things called books and people read them, and these things called teachers that kids listened to.
I'm about sick of hearing whiny brats who can't get on Myspace while they're in school. My money helps pay for the computers and bandwidth that the school uses, which kids try to use for their own amusement.
We are going to end up a society that graduates complete idiots from high school.
Someone should really put a HARD age limit on Myspace's hours - like verified age and time constraints.
And the schools aren't helping much by leaving the PC's that are for student use unsecured. It's SO easy to make Internet Explorer administratively locked so that people can't change proxy settings (which kids do constantly), and there has to be a list maintained somewhere that shows those sites that act as a tunnel, and have those sites blocked at the edge device at the school.
And how about setting up student use computers as network boot devices that each student has to log in to (or Active Directory even) so that they will know that THEY ARE BEING WATCHED.
Enable Remote Desktop or VNC on all the computers so faculty can randomly check in on who is doing what.
There are so many ways to end this crap, but people are just to lazy or inept to do it and maintain it properly.
I swear, I'm home schooling my daughter. With people like you in school, I don't want her there. You're a bad influence, and selfish to boot. Play on your own time. Jackass.

why do you even need to check myspace? Aren't all your friends at school with you? If someone is leaving you comments in the middle of the day, they are either so addicted to myspace that they skip school or they aren't kids at all. I'm willing to bet money that your average is below a B

becuz they want you to drop out of school and go home to play, cuz they dont want to waste their time on your other activities that seem to have a better magnet on you than what they have. So yeah! Just quit school sign onto myspace and stay in front of the screen for the rest of your life. And one day when your mom asks you to move out of her house then you can come back here and ask why.

They block it because they want you to do learn during school hours, not leave messages for your friends on Myspace. They want you to be educated - how stupid, right?

Schools block Myspace because thet don't want you using "y" for "why". They don't really want you misspelling words and using acronyms inside of the classrooms. They also want you to learn instead of chatting with your friends.

Is the stupid school for stupid kids? That would answer the question. More likely the school is eliminating a distraction to the advancement of learning. It may seem foreign to you but that is the intent and purpose of having school. I bet lots of people love you if that final phrase is a request for love.
