how do i go about getting a stage name?

I rather do this than have my name changed in full. can anyone tell me how i would go about this process. thank u

check with the screen actors guild. . They have a web site at:

http://www.sag.org/sagWebApp/

The first thing you need to do is settle on a name and then register it with the SAG people. . .

Why would you want a stage name? Wouldn't it be better to become an actor first? Stage names are pretty much passe. People have found their original, unusual names were better.

You can use any stage name you want. But if you join one of the unions for professional actors, you won't be allowed to use the same name as another union member.
