To blindly believe is as easy as falling of a log. Better to taking the time to investigate beyond the anecdotal or hearsay stories. This requires critical thinking.
"It seems to me what is called for is an exquisite balance between two conflicting needs: the most skeptical scrutiny of all hypotheses that are served up to us and at the same time a great openness to new ideas.... If you are only skeptical, then no new ideas make it through to you.... On the other hand, if you are open to the point of gullibility and have not an ounce of skeptical sense in you, then you cannot distinguish the useful ideas from the worthless ones" - Carl Sagan, 1987.

I think it is a study built up over the centuries and singlehandedly ruined by new agers within the time span of 30+ years.
Astrology has been around since around the 6th century BCE. That is a fact. It has always been a study, and because of certain lack of a consistent source couldn't possibly be called a science. I don't like to call the Astrology that we know now neither fact nor science.
And that's where the new age comes in. New agers tend to accept everything that the study of Astrology has formed, as *fact*, and thus treat it this way. What happens then, is that they force opinions on other people because "astrology says so". This has been going on for far longer than we could think, for at least one or two generations. Thanks to that behaviour, the now adult generation and all the next generations have a built-in resistance against this new age approach to astrology, which I can agree with. I get sick and tired of the new age ideas myself, and I am an astrologer. The conclusion they come to, however, is that astrology is a load of bull and only a superstition, rather than realising that astrology is still only a study which needs working on. Like behaviorial psychology, which is only a study as well because it has no facts to build upon; just the study of human behaviour.

Horoscope -of the indian style is a fact for sure.It is so precise that a good astrologer can even tell what you are going to do tomorrow in a particular field.
The reason people dont believe in it is
1)media :print and electronic have created confusion by publishing monthly weekly daily fortune according to sunsigns-it is total garbage.not to be believed a single word
2)To make quick bucks and earn fast popularity idiots also have started becoming astrologer, tarot reader, numerologists, and so on.it is actually taking people away from the science and belief.
Actually indian astrology is so vast and deep that it takes almost 5-7 years for a intelligent person to master it to some degrees -that too not entirely.a average person will need 10-15 years of experience and study combined to be accurate.
regards

Astrology doesn't predict the future
It shows where energies are strong or weak in areas of your life and some personality traits, stuff like that.
It's a lot to study and learn about , more than you would think.
I have been now for a few years, and still learning
So you tell me Fact or Superstition.
Try learning it.It's hard.

the astrology you see in magazines daily for your sign is b.s.
the astrology that takes in the minute you were born, the star alignment, the dimples on your body and tons of other factors might be more true (ive had a professional astrologer do a whole 10 page forecast around 5 years ago for 10 years in the future for me, some of it came true and some not so much. the reason he gave me for it is because my own interpretation of myself is different than the one that life has planned out for me. but i think we control our lives, and it is not all laid out where we just follow a predefined path.) i think its all subjective.
But, back to your question - today's astrology; the stuff you read in newspapers and magazines is pulled right out of someones you know where. Real astrology is more in depth and might be a little bit more true.

Hi. Astrology is simply a study. Believing that it can influence your (fill in the blank) is wishful, but not scientific.

There's no basis of fact in it and a lot of the horoscopes are very general and could apply to anyone. So no I don't beleive in it.

Fact if you have your chart done to find out more detail. Otherwise it may seem to generalized.
