so, heres the things...we go to hubby's mother's house to spend the night, sometimes 2 nights...my kids go in thier school clothes and when they come home, they sometimes come home in other clothes she has provided, i dont exactly have other crappy clothes to change them in before going to grandma's. i cant have them coming home in different clothes , no matter what i say to them, grandma wont listen when i ask her to put on the clothes they came in. My husband's sis still lives with her mother at age 30 ish and she acts like this "clothes queen". She has clothes in a locked up closet so if someone needs clothes, they need to ask her. How do i avoid her and solve this problem of them coming back home with the clothes they went in?

If they are coming home in clothes that grandma provides, make sure next time they go, they wear those same clothes back. She gets her clothes back and you keep your's. Other than asking for the other ones you sent them with in the past...I don't know how you'd get them back. Who knows, maybe after sending them in grandmas clothes, your's will cycle through. The clothes you buy for your children should stay at your house always unless you go there and stay with them like for dinner or something, then you all go home, and you still have your clothes. You can only spend so much on clothes, so don't send your children in the nice ones, use clothes they have come back in from grandma's. Hope this helps.

I really don't see a problem here with grandma giving your children clothing, it sounds like you could use the help in that area.
So what if the 30ish sis is a clothes queen and she has to be asked for some clothes? It's merely a game that is being played, and don't let them play you. It's not a big deal unless you make it so.

Surely you must have more than one outfit for your kids. Pack a bag with a change of clothes for them to wear the next day if it bothers you that she is putting other clothes on them.

I"m not fully understanding the question. You say "we" so aren't you there too? And what about the clothes she sends them home in. You should have lots of those lying around to change them into before you go......

Just make your point and request firmly that this is what you want to happen.
