Name one liberal who believes Bush INVENTED the national debt and deficit spending. You can't because it isn't true.
As far as I know about the economy is that Clinton left office with a budget surplus and before Bush was in office one year that was spent. I also know that gas prices are at an all time high, that people are losing their homes, people are losing jobs in the banking industry because of the forclosure mess. That is hardly what one could call a great economy. I have even heard the R and D words bantied about. Those, of course are recession and even depression in the near future. The national debt is at an all time high and we owe the money to conuntries whose governmental systems are quite different than our own. I may not be an expert on economics but I know that today my dollar buys less than it ever has. I don't need to be an expert to know something is drastically wrong with our economy, under G.W. Bush and nothing is being done to fix the problem. Bush keeps demanding more and more and more money for his little war. That may wind up being the most expensive war in US history.

What???? Are you serious? National debt and Deficit spending came about when the Federal Reserve was created. The Fed is a private bank that lends money to the Government that the government will never be able to pay back.

Beren, I'll name two! Esmerelda who said "But we most certainly didn't have a national debt when he came into office and, gee, look where it is now...." and Jan Stolz who said "When Bush was elected the country had a surplus. We now have a deficit in the trillions."
I'm not a big fan of Bush, because he has spent so much money and created more government control, but he didn't start the national debt! Clinton's so called surplus had social security figured into it and was no surplus at all!

Wow, am I the only one who didn't fall asleep in 10th grade government class?
Spending bills come out of Congress. You pilloried Bush for vetoing a huge medical pork bill and slam him for signing a war bill.
I'm not a fan of the war, but I think you need to review who actually writes the bills.

Because he has spent money in such an irresponsible way as to make a drunken sailor say "damn"!!!!!!!!!! There are plenty of conservatives who feel the same way......George Will, John Dean, Jim Baker, and the father of the modern conservative movement, William F. Buckley to name a few. You might want to do some research before you ask such a shallow question.

Well, of course, this is a question rather arrogant in its approach. Fact is, Republicans since Reagan have been averse to balancing the federal budget. Cutting taxes, sure, but, this needs to work in tandem with either cutting the federal budget, or, cutting taxes less dramatically to ensure a balanced busget.

I know of no liberal who has ever said that.
What I do know is Bill created a surplus and Bush created a deficit.
Prior to that, libs as well as cons spent like crazy loons.
Obviously, Bush is a loon.

When Bush was elected the country had a surplus. We now have a deficit in the trillions. That's the truth.
