Been living seperately for more than 5 years but will not file for divorce due to economics. Woman no job and financially dependent on the man. Man says that if he divorce her she gets more money out of him than just regularly supporting her. He's got a girlfriend, she's dating.

I don't know if economics is 'enough' to stay married but living apart but it happens every day.....personally, I believe a person is better off breaking ties with their ex and moving on with their life. Until the past is resolved, it's hard to move forward completely.

What?!! Lady engaged your brain here!!! Why in the world you want to stay married and not working out your problems? Next thing, why don't you have a job to support yourself. This is so backward that it make me want to fuss!!

If you and your husband can't work out your problem as husband and wife. A divorce is in order so the two of you can go your own way. If he worry about how much he will lose in the divorce case, then it to his best interest to work things out or paid up and move on. For you lady, get yourself a job and not be so dependent on your husband who is not there with you. Where is your self respect?

the girlfriend should get away because the man is selfish and tight with money. a Man who stays in a relationship for money has issue with it. Bad omen for the girlfriend. Anyway, what's the point if she wants to get married, he'll never divorce and they're living in a threesome relationship, well kind of...
The girlfriend is waisting her time.

This can not go on for the rest of your life. Since it is over you need to put your lives in order and by stretching it as you are right now it will keep both of you down. It is best to be fair about dividing the belongings and move on with your life's.

The two people involved need to decide if that works for them. Personally, my biggest concern is that the woman is more vulnerable. If he decides to stop supporting her financially, she's going to have some big problems. Personally, I would strongly encourage her to explore ways to become financially independent of him.
